Discover tour Printemps
In 1865, the young entrepreneur Jules Jaluzot and his wife Augustine opened the "Grands Magasins du Printemps", with the ambition of creating a new temple to fashion, elegance and the avant-garde in a Paris in the throes of change.
This guided tour reveals the secrets of the architecture, history and operation of the department stores', hidden behind its listed façade. Designed as a vertical journey, you'll discover an exceptional panorama over the roofs of Paris, before descending into the underground galleries. In this maze of corridors, you can visit the machine room and meet the technicians who work there. From private accesses to confidential passages, you can admire the Printemps masterpieces, such as the floating staircases, and the reverse side of the majestic stained-glass dome, 20 metres in diameter, which towers 50 metres above the building.
From the 7th Heaven to the basement, from the Second Empire to the 21st century, via Art Nouveau and Art Deco, this tour is a journey through the heritage of the Grand Magasin and its transformations over nearly 160 years.
